Union Dining

Union Dining is the kind of place I reckon I could become a regular.... Great food - nothing too tricky - just solid flavours, clever balance of textures and excellent food for sharing with friends.  Right now Nicky Reimer's kitchen is turning out very fine pate and terrine,  lovely winter salads, hearty mains and simple, bang on desserts. The room is large and airy but manages to evoke a certain cosiness. The open fire was most welcoming on a chilly Melbourne evening as were several bottles of wine.... The  delightful Adam Cash runs the floor .  No brainer. An easy place to just be.
Duck confit salad
Ham hock salad with soft egg and herbs... oh yeah
Lady Hilary McNevin and Mr Adam Cash himself!
We chose the croustade of apple and the Italian trifle - both excellent
Chef Nicky Reimer with fellow guest (and foodie) Jason McLaren Jones of cafe 'Porgie and Mr Jones' (which is now on the must do list!) - can you guess who's business card this is below ?? how fab is that?!
