Myong Hee Kim Exhibition

Korean born Myong Hee has resided in Kyoto for over 30 years. She is a friend to many, a natural net-worker and never-ending source of local information for moi! When she isn't busy answering my relentless questions she locks herself away, from the wild bears, boar and (delicious) deer, in her ramshackle Takahama based studio and creates. Her latest exhibition in a Gion gallery is a colourful display of hand painted scarves, lanterns and pencil drawing. There's sadly only one day left (ends the evening of 18 December '10) so if you are not in the area it might be helpful to know that she shows regularly in Japan and internationally and is highly lauded for her inspirational 'peace mask project'. If you are keen to know more you can find her  here
