Xuan - Vietnamese Restaurant in Kyoto

If you spend long enough in Kyoto town you will want to have a break from Japanese food. Hard to believe I know - but it's a fact. I like to look at it as a way of recalibrating my palate.

If you happen to have a hankering for Hanoi whilst in Kyoto town - well there probably isn't a lot of choice to be honest ...
 - but I do know of one little spot, not to far from the western exit of Nishiki market -  and while it wasn't perhaps as authentic as one might like the food was delicate,  decently priced,  in a convenient position and boasts this gorgeous pocket garden out the front. Modelled by the equally gorgeous Liz.

You will find Xuan on Gokomachi street,  just north of Shijo street on the western side of the road - down a little alleyway. There are a few restaurants/cafes advertised on the gate as you enter. Xuan is at the end of the alley on the right, the garden above is on the left.
Open 11am- 10:30pm. Open every day except Wednesdays.
