Well who knew?? What a fab little find this is - thanks Elsbeth. Last week on a cold, snowy eve we were transported from Kyoto to France... The meal was so good I am reluctant to tell you about it because the place is tiny and I wish to always have a seat available for moi!
There is an astonishing team of one doing all the cooking, serving of food and drinks and the clean up... what a machine that man is - and always with a smile on his face.
Chef ordered us in a whole leg of NZ lamb as requested (generally impossible to find in Japan) and roasted it to perfection! Although we tried, we couldn't finish it off but that might have had something to do with the house made pate, rillettes, cornichon, pain, salades and escargot we attacked before the main arrived. That didn't stop us from ordering dessert of course - a kick-arse baba au rhum and gateaux chocolat with creme Chantilly. All that with a couple of bottles of awesome house red was around 4000yen per head.
Its on Higashioji just north of Ichijoji on the west side of the street (about 5 mins walk north of HELP supermarket).
